I want to eliminate extra space between bulleted paragraphs. (Unlike other discussions I've found on  this topic, I'm only using one level of bullets, hence only one style.) "Space between same styles" set to zero does not seem to override "space before". I even tried setting it to 12, which also had no effect. But if I set "space before" to zero, then I get the within-style spacing I want but no space before the first bullet, and I do want the latter.

Am I missing something about "space between same styles"?

Text came from MSWord but was pasted without formatting, so all the formatting should be originating in AfPub.

I've never been able to get paragraph spacing to work consistently in MSWord either, despite using it for some 30 years. But I expect such problems in Word.

You still have 2pts for the Before paragraph spacing.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

In your screen shot, there is a checkbox for Space between same styles. Check it, keep it at 0 (zero) and that 2pt above will only be applied to the paragraph before the bullets.

Oh, that's what I was missing, thanks. Black-on-black UI, my aging eyes couldn't see the checkbox. (I've tried the light UI but then menus are gray on gray. Haven't decided which is worse.)

Yes, because I do want that space before the first bullet.
