Hi everyone.

I have not the time to look through all posts here so I asking the question now.

I am new to Affinity Designer but have some basic knowledge from Illustrator, I have to say that Affinity Designer is easier then I thought, so here is my question.

I have been asked to create a logo for an Electrician who would like to make his initials look like a piece of white round electrical wire with the 3 wires showing at one end?  I am having problems getting a stroke line to look like a round cable.  Is there anyway it can be done?

I am looking forward to hearing back form all of you good guys and girls out there with the exert understanding and work around to create this logo.

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards.

For just a stroke line and thus no 3d like shape/curves, all you can probably do here is to try to use the 3D FX effect ...

... but NOTE that this will yield to rasterization (a pixel bitmap) on export, so not being anymore plain vectors then. - An alternative would be instead to use a brush type that looks that rounded cable/tube style (tubular bells - Mike Oldfield).

There also might be some sort of wired font on the net, you can do a search after those things ...

I would use inner shadow rather than 3D, it gives a better rounding effect.

Many thanks for the file and what a great way to do it.  I will try and make the 2 letters I need following your theme and let you know.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply, I searched on Shutterstock and they had a 3d vector of letters made from electric cable. Downloaded them and created something that my friend is happy with but I will keep trying other ways to better my understanding of Affinity Designer more than anything.

Thanks again for your prompt reply.
