Axis39
I am having a kinda-sorta similar issue with file associations on my iPad and Designer V2 (I never had V1 on my iPad) When I click Open, it opens the proper window to my files program, and opens to the folder I've been working in.... But, all of the afdesign files are grayed out and I cannot select them. Also, I've tried to create templates and create new files from the template I've saved.... But, the only thing close to a template I can select is the file that is currently active in my Live files view. The template files I literally just created and saved moments before, are grayed out. However, that file opens into a new project in my Live files window. I am sure it is about the installer not updating the iOS to properly associate the file types. I am pretty sure of this because I have uninstalled and reinstalled Version 2 twice now. I installed V2 on my MacBook, and it works perfectly.... (I did have V1 installed prior, and it properly imported my info, etc.)

walt.farrell
After Open, when you're looking at the dialog shown in your screenshot, please try this: 1. Long-press on one of the .afdesign files and choose Get Info. Show us a screenshot of the result. 2. Then, in that dialog, tap Open, and let us know what happens. Also, where is that directory located? And what release of iPadOS do you have, and what model iPad? Axis39
I'm sorry, I meant to come back yesterday and respond to my thread. Over the weekend I did some experimenting. IT seems the problem is not with the Designer 2 software at all. It was my remote storage (MyCloud Home... Which WD is no longer supporting) If I save things to my iPad, iCloud, etc, it's fine. I haven't tested on Google Drive, or any other cloud systems yet. And, to give you a direct answer, the files were completely grayed out, I could not select them, long select them, nada... They did not seem to be associated wiht any program whatsoever. Hence, my search over the next few days for a new personal cloud storage solution. And, thanks everyone for the help. While I won't get it solved here, you guys all led me to the solution. walt.farrell
