Designer Export as .svg issue

Hi @Ikikuru,

The main problem with this is SVG and its lack of support for Layer Fxs.  Most if not all Layers Fxs would get rasterised on export and if you have the Rasterise option set to nothing, then the Layer Fx would be missing from the export.

But this isn't a bug, it is more SVG's lack of support for Layer Fxs.

I would put it more the other way around, namely that Affinity does not provide the support for generating and parsing in equivalent transformed SVG code. - SVG already offers a number of filters that do offer to do the same things ...

feGaussianBlur
feDropShadow
feConvolveMatrix
feDisplacementMap
feColorMatrix
feFlood
feBlend
feDiffuseLighting
feDistantLight
feSpecularLighting
fePointLight
... and so on ...

But it's overall easier for the Affinity apps to handle these things rasterized as embeded base64 uuencoded bitmaps here instead.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
