LR0728 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Hi There - Please will you provide instructions to get Thumbnails working for Affinity Designer 2.2.0 with Onedrive, Windows 11? I have tried to apply instructions posted by others, but I can't get thumbnails to work. It really doesn't seem like there is a solution, but I'd like to hear from the source. It simply makes opening graphic files a total drag. Please help! Quote

Lukee Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 There are so many posts that Affinity thumbnails are not there if stored in OneDrive and viewed in File Explorer in Windows that is is incredible. So many people have this problem. Affinity is blaming Microsoft ("they should allow the thumbnails in OneDrive app"). Microsoft is blaming Affinity (yes, there is a post somewhere where the technical support of Microsoft states something similar to "Afinity should get compatible with some thing that creates the icons in a certain way"). But really, to wait for Microsoft could take another 30 years, there is no point. Affinity should push to find a workaround. There are small 3rd party apps enabling SVG or PSD thumbnails, something like this could be done with Affinity files. It just would be good for Affinity/Canva/developers not to be defetist, pesimistic, give up but try to find a way. After all, it is a serious problem hindering any professional work. How do we want to get more professionals on board if basics do not work? If I am an amateur with 5 files to edit, no problem for me. If I am a professional with 1000s of files that have to be backed up (in OneDrive for example), it begins to be unusable because of this one "detail" which is not detail at all if you work at scale!
