Nlbrmn
I'm new to Affinity Photo and have watched a number of the tutorial videos... I very much like what I am seeing so far. As I have own Adobe Photoshop CS5, I have quite a bit of work in Photoshop format... Is there a way to import Photoshop files so as to keep their layers/channels/text layers intact and editable? Thanks, -Neil aapedMum
Staff MEB Posted March 28, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 28, 2016 Hi Neil, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Go to menu File ▸ Open and select the PSD file you want to import. Not all PSD features are supported but you shouldn't have issues with the most common ones. As far as i know currently text on a path and channels are not supported. Nlbrmn
Thanks MEB! That did indeed work for getting PSD files in. The first few files I tried came in looking somewhat odd. I tried what you suggested once again and zooming in and out corrected the display issue. It's a shame channels aren't yet supported... I hope they will be in an upcoming release. Thanks again, -Neil
Ahmyan2014
Hello Everyone, Im fairly new to Affinity, but I am eager to master both AF Photo and AF Design. Please pardon my ignorance as I try to untangle my frustrations. I've been searching the forums for quite sometime now, looking for a way to open a .PSD template file in Affinity Photo. This is the closest Ive gotten to a thread with a solution, but still no luck. I keep getting this error message.... "failed to open PSD file..... File could not be parsed" I tried a different template file, hoping that the last one was a just a bad file, but I kept getting the same error message over and over again. Is there something Im not doing correctly?

thecameragraphic
When attempting to load a PSD file in Affinity Designer, I'm also encountering the error quoted above, "failed to open PSD file - File could not be parsed." I've down-sampled the psd (Hawaii Master.psd) for quicker upload/download to the dropbox link provided. Thanks for your continued efforts.
