Hi @Satish Balagopal and welcome to the forums,

There have been a number of reports from other users experiencing similar issues opening Affinity 2.2.0 files when using macOS Sonoma. I know the moderation and support teams are investigating.

One thing you could try is a factory reset which involves holding the Ctrl Key down while launching Affitiy Photo. When you see the Clear User Data window I would perhaps suggest ticking all options in the top half of the window and then clicking Clear to see if Photo launches.

Note: This will reset any custom shortcuts and UI settings you may have previously setup so unless you have backups these will need to be reset.

With regards to the RAW files from your Z8, the Z8 isn't currently supported by LibRaw which is the RAW image processing library used by Affinity Photo. The full list of supported cameras can be found in this FAQ.

What happens when you try opening a photo?  If you get an error, can you please post a screenshot of it?  Also, where are your images stored, locally or on a Cloud service (if yes, which one?) or an external hard drive?

I've downloaded a sample RAW for that camera and it has opened for me.  See attached screenshot.  Can you just check what RAW engine you are using?  To do that click Affinity Photo 2 menu in the top left corner and select Settings>Assistants>Develop Assistant and set the RAW Engine to Apple (Core Image RAW) and close Settings.  Now try opening one of your RAW files, does it open?

Just to add to what @stokerg mentions above, I can likewise open standard RAW Z8 files despite LibRaw not 'officially' supporting the camera yet but I think that's because the Z8 uses the same sensor as the Z9 which is supported.

One thing to be aware of however is that, as far as I'm aware, Nikon Z8 and Z9 High Efficiency Raw files are still not supported. I've been trying to find one online to test but if you happen to be shooting using this RAW mode you may experience issues opening the RAW file.

Could you confirm which RAW Mode you are using with the Z8.
