MarkIrish
I've come up with a workflow that seems to work for me. I spend my mornings sketching abstract shapes. I draw them the old-school way with pencil and paper. I cut out the “good” ones and keep them in a folder for inspiration. I then take a digital picture of the one I want to work with and place it into Designer. After recreating the shape I start to see what I can come up with. I've posted the original sketch and the final product. I never know where these drawings are going to go, but that's what I like… the journey, and hopefully a decent destination. lepr, stokerg, Pehaer and 9 others
Celia at Grafted Works
Um... this is so cool! Could pass for movie/video game concept art. Did you add some bitmaps for textures like the lights and the planet surface? All the textures on the station were created by me using custom brushes. For the lights I used a square that had random luminance. I drew large blanks of this texture and then placed them within the vector shapes. The planet was from the stock tab, I initially was using it as a placeholder as I often do, but it worked so well that I left it in. dannyg9
Great piece! Love the use of light and dark, perfectly balanced. And don't apologize for using pencil and paper. What would everyone do if the power were lost? Sketchbooks rule. MarkIrish
