KarinC
Yesterday, I uploaded my first book to Amazon KDP. The interior file was perfect. The cover however was not within the template once uploaded. It was higher than it should have been. It was not marked as an error but as I went through the steps the cover was appearing off. The margins were set to zero, I used their template and lined up everything perfectly. I had to move the whole thing down in increments and upload about 3 times until I got it sitting correctly in the template on their preview. It now sits .117 inches below the margin but exports perfectly to fit their template. There is a very faint blue border around the page outside of the margins. The bottom of the artwork worked when it was at the bottom of this blue line - below the margin. In this screenshot the faint margin shows up. The true margin is in white above the bottom of the image. I was surprised that the entire image exported without being cut off at the bottom. This is a bleed with the X1-a format. I am still using 2.1.1. I don't want to update until this is finished. I plan to make more of these books using this format. Is this an export problem? MikeTO
Margins have no impact on the exported PDF - they are guides for you to lay out your document. I think you should be looking at your bleed settings. Bleed should set to 0 for digital but from the purple line it looks like you have bleed enabled. KarinC
Ah, bleed settings are the culprit. For some reason I had them at .118 inches, not zero. I might have thought I had to set them for the template. Thank you. MikeTO
