bpdavis
Is there a quick way to determine the midpoint of a straight line? I'm currently needing horizontal and vertical midpoints, but diagonal would be nice too. I've tried creating a horizontal line and editing using the node editor. I add a new node between the endpoints of the line. I'd like to see a dynamic vertical guide when dragging that displays when the new node is between the endpoints of the original horizontal line. walt.farrell
If you're using V2, see the section "To Split Curves with a new node" on this Help page, which should work in any of the applications: https://affinity.help/photo2/en-US.lproj/pages/CurvesShapes/edit_linesAndShapes.html Old Bruce 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. thomaso
I don't know of a visual snapping indicator to place a node exactly between two others. For horizontal + vertical lines, you can place the third node anywhere, then select the three nodes + get the position of the middle node auto-corrected with the Align option. v_kyr
For the move tool "Enable Transform Origin" can be helpful (though the rotation handle on top already shows either way where the middle is). For the Node tool try with enabled snapping candidates and move slowly over lines to get an indicator. screencast_point.mp4 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
