Affinity Photo 1.10.6 starts slowly

Recommended Posts

After a few years working fine without any problem suddenly my Affinity Photo starts very slowly, it takes 30 seconds before I can do anything. On my Acer Swift 3 with windows 11 control system all other programs work fine, the problem appears only in Affinity Photo. I have it re-installed, but this problem is still there. A friend of mine has exactly the same problem; could it be a communication-problem with your server? How can I fix it?

@Leon Weijts Welcome to the forums.
On occasion having a lot of fonts installed may have an affect on the apps opening time. Other than that, they should be opening as quickly as possible based on system resources.

Exactly the same here. Always a quick start, and for the past few days, it's been incredibly slow. The issue is only with Affinity. Not on Windows but on an M1 Mac.

I re-installed Affinity Photo and now it is starting fast, but preferences does not respond and the program must be terminated.

I solved the problem after I could re-install AF v1.

In the advanced color-control of my Acer pc the color-profile in the deviceprofile tab was set to a non-standard one. By changing it to  sRGB IEC61966.2.1 the program started within a few seconds. Amazing that the statup-time of AF only depends on that!
