AlfredM Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I am working in Affinity Publisher on a large 500 page book with around 1500 pictures. As I am progressing, the application has started crashing once every few minutes, usually after placing a new image. As the deadline is approaching this is a real concern. I am using Affinity Publisher 2.2, on a 2022 Mac Studio with 32Gb RAM, MacOS Ventura 13.2.1. All images are placed as linked resources. Any suggestions are welcome.
MikeTO Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Hi @AlfredM, what are your Performance settings? Choose Affinity Publisher 2 > Settings and then click Performance. If Enable Hardware Acceleration > Enable Metal is selected, turn it off. If Display is set to Metal, change it to OpenGL. With these settings change I don't have any issues with hundreds of images in a long book. With Metal enabled I have frequent crashes like you're having. Good luck.
