Luis Simon Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 hi guys can someone tell me how to remove that SS symbol that I get in the text 😅
walt.farrell Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 That's the "end of story" symbol. You can simply ignore it, but if you don't want to see it, try turning off Text > Show Special Characters. I am surprised that it's showing up for Artistic Text, as (I think) it's really only useful for Frame Text, and then its real purpose is with Linked Text Frames, which are a Publisher function. craig b and Luis Simon 2 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC:    Desktop:  Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090   Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.    Laptop 2: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 16GB memory, Snapdragon(R) X Elite - X1E80100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) 12 Core CPU 4.01 GHz, Qualcomm(R) Adreno(TM) X1-85 GPU iPad:  iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 26.0, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sequoia 15.6.1

The end of story symbol is the only way you know where the text ends if there is trailing white space so it does serve a purpose for all text objects. walt.farrell and craig b 2 Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters MacBook Pro (M4 Pro, Tahoe 26.1) and iPad Air (M2, iPadOS 26.1)
