I am trying to figure out some way of fading a patch. Like in Photoshop there is an option to fade a patch.

Is there any way to fade the patch selected in Affinity Photo V2

You can find the Fade command under the Layer menu. Whatever you just used, be it the Patch tool or others will be appended to the Fade command. The key is, if you're wanting to use the Fade command, you need to do it immediately following, like in your case, using the Patch tool.

Another option, if you know you will want to fade the patch, is to create a new layer above, then choose "Current layer and below" in the Context Toolbar. Then you can adjust the opacity of the patch layer.
