MikeTO
I'm trying to figure out why the word options followed by an em dash breaks at option-s. When it's followed by an en dash it breaks at opt-ions as it should. Putting aside the fact that option-s isn't where it should ever break, minimum suffix is set to 2 in this example. These are the default hyphenation settings but this happened in my book with more refined settings, too. breaking.afpub Screen Recording 2023-09-25 at 3.09.28 PM.mov Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.2, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
Hangman
There are clear differences between v1.10.6 and v2.2.0 when using identical hyphenation settings and text frame widths to initiate the breaks... There is also a difference with regards to the proximity of special characters in relation to actual characters though maybe this is just an improvement between the two versions... Dan C
Thanks for your report @MikeTO! I've replicated this issue and reported it to our developers, including the differences between V1 & V2, as shown above. I hope this helps MikeTO
