Severe Lagging in Affinity Designer V2 - Layers Panel Extremely Delayed - Vector Brush Strokes Slow

Hi, I am experiencing ridiculously slow performance all around, especially with moving items around in the layers panel. Slow and intermittent vector brush strokes and the pencil tool too. I am struggling with V2 and had none of these issues in V1. I am a book illustrator and this issue of lagging is making using the software almost unusable. Can anyone or staff help, please?

System specs are below and V2 Performance panel options are attached.

A video showing the layers panel lag and also how item thumbnails take too long to load making the process very slow and ineffective.

I have tried disabling Hardware Acceleration and this doesn't work, performance is possibly a touch worse.

I have a very fast laptop made by Acer for design, 3D, 8k video editing etc. A ConceptD 7.
