Sony A1 .hif files, I’m confused

So when I try to open a HEIF from a Sony A1, .hif 10bit, 4.2.2, through the FILE-OPEN all documents, these files do not show up.

But………

When I just drag a file from my desktop and drop it on the AFFINITY PHOTO 2 icon, the software opens with the file and I can edit the hif files as any image file.

Why not allowing to open these files through FILE-OPEN.

(That issue was raised for macOS but I imagine it’s the same problem.)
