Hi @Stef16,

There have been several reports of the same issue...

Could you please confirm whether you are running macOS Ventura and also whether your document uses the Euroscale Coated v2 profile or if not which profile it uses and also which OS language and Affinity Designer language you have set under the General Settings?

Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5
Affinity Designer Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.6.0.2861 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.6.0.2861

MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse
HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

Hi @Stef16,

Many thanks for confiming...

@Dan C is currently trying to track down the cause as it seems to be affecting some users but not others using Ventura with Euroscale Coated v2.

Could you just confirm which OS language you're using along with the language you're using in Designer?

Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5

Hi @Stef16,

Many thanks for confirming...

Are you able to share the file you're having issues with so we can take a look? If you'd prefer not to share the file publicly @Dan C can provide a private Dropbox link for you so you can upload your file where he will be able to run further tests.

Thanks for your report @Stef16,

It dosn`t matter witch file i take to Export, the result is always the same.

It would still help if you could provide a copy of this document here for me, as our team are having trouble replicating this issue internally currently and therefore the more files/information we have, the easier it is to identify and fix this issue.

As mentioned above, this PDF export issue seems to only affect the Euroscale Coated V2 profile, so you can either:

  • Set a different CMYK profile for the document, before exporting to PDF
    or
  • Revert back to Designer 2.1.1 until this issue is resolved.

If you'd like advice on how to 'roll back' to the previous version, can you first please confirm if you are using the Affinity Store or Mac App Store version of the Affinity app? As this may change the process slightly.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi @Stef16,

Are you able to export when using a profile other than Euroscale Coated v2 or is it affecting all exports regardless of the profile you use?

Thanks for verifying that for me!

Please visit the below link and download the 2.1.1 DMG under 'Previous Versions' :

https://store.serif.com/update/macos/designer/2/

Once downloaded, please open your Applications folder and right-click on the Affinity Designer 2 app, then select Send to trash to uninstall 2.2.0.

Now, using the previously downloaded 2.1.1 DMG, install this version following the usual install steps. You should find that Affinity Designer 2 is now listed in your Applications folder once again.

I hope this helps :)

I have switched to version 2.1.1 and there seems also to be a PDF problem at least with the preview display.

The PDF file is created here but not displayed in the preview.
Since it is a customer file, I can not provide it.
Is it possibly the MAC Ventura version that Affinity has problems with?

I can confirm that there are no known issues with Export Preview & Ventura, in either 2.1.1 or 2.2.0 - and this is working correctly for me on my M1 Ventura Mac here.

When exporting the PDF, the Export Preview will show the first page in the file. If this page is empty, then it's expected the Export Preview would be blank.

Unfortunately without a copy of your file we can only make assumptions, such as the above. If your page is not empty, would you be willing to upload the file privately to the Support team here? :)

The issue "PDF export fails when document is set to Euroscale Coated V2" (REF: AF-370) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.2052".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
