Uwe-R-aus-B Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 1) I cannot delete any object in Affinity Publisher with backspace as before, one has to choose item in layers panel to delete. 2) Textboxes are always with a frame which mostly distracts for design view. 3) So far nothing is better except the new features maybe which I did not try as of this reading but probably will, of course. Bob Terry Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 I have also noted that the backspace key doesn’t work, but the delete key does. With the update (on my iMac with Catalina and on my MacBook Pro with the latest beta of Ventura), the cursor often disappears, as does the horizontal scroll bar. Also selecting a portion of text shows no color at all, yet the text is in fact selected! Then suddenly the typical blue selection bar will appear at random times. I’ve even had the selection bar appear as a reddish pink bar. This update seems quite unstable with these fluctuations in performance. Why is it that when when my Publisher window is closed that when I click on the Affinity Publisher icon in the dock, the window does not automatically open. I have to right click and look at the names of the open windows/files in order to maximize them? Quote
Terentyev Publisher Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Same problem with the backspace not working. Fn+backspace works, but I delete layers constantly, and pressing combinations is not what I want. In the shortcuts menu I set backspace for deleting the layer (Edit→delete) but it still does not work. Quote
Dan C Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Thanks for letting us know regarding the Backspace key, as anto has mentioned this is a known issue which has been logged with our development team. If you have other issues to report in the Affinity apps, we ask that you create a new thread in the relevant section of the forums for this - such that we can keep each thread to a singular issue as otherwise it becomes difficult to track these issues for our users. Many thanks for your understanding Daniel Gibert and Uwe-R-aus-B 2 Quote

Check if you have View > "Show text flow" active. If so, deactivate it. While active, text frames are visible. This way you don't need to work on preview mode all the time, which hides guides and margins. Quote
Uwe-R-aus-B Posted September 24, 2023 Author Posted September 24, 2023 THX, it got activated by default, I guess after updating and as this is normally not activated, it distracts, very thank you very much. Kindest Regards, Uwe Quote
