@Urizen Welcome to the forums.

If turning off Hardware Acceleration seem to resolve the issue for you. It could indicate a render/redraw issue with one of the files you opened. If it repeatedly occured with a particular file, can you provide a copy?

It may also be worth checking to see if you're using the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Hi, Lee, thanks for the welcoming.

First, let me just correct the attribution to macOS. In fact, Photo is running perfectly on my MacBook Air M2 / Ventura 13.4.1. The problem I was reporting was experienced on Windows 11 (22H2, ver. 22622.598). It occurred with every image I tried to open or even when creating a new file.

I'm also a casual gamer, so I try to keep my Nvidia graphic card drivers updated.
