IpadOS 16.3.1

Affinity Photo V2.2

Ipad Pro 12.9" 1st Gen

Bug: Turning "Retina Rendering Only" is not having an effect on how the strokes of the brush tool are getting rendered. I get blurring of the canvas with the option turned off and on.

I'm seeing the same, but I don't know if that's a change in 2.2 or not.

What is the actual issue?

Pixel brushes are inherently blurry - but i don't get what “Retina only rendering” has to do with it.

Hi @Lewisflakes,

Apologies on the late reply, the issue is still outstanding internally i'm afraid. The thread is tagged with the issue ref, so if there are any further updates the info bot will auto reply. I've bumped the existing issue with your report and updates it to reflect that it's still an issue in the 2.4.2.

The recording in the thread linked below demonstrates what's happening, essentially the 'Retina Rendering Only' setting isn't working on iPad, as the canvas is still blurry during brushing as if it's doing multiple render passes rather than a single one.
