This is a question I haven't managed to find an answer to in the Affinity forums.

I've stitched together some panoramas in Affinity photo from multiple RAW files, however, the results always seem to become JPEG's.

Is there a way to render images as RAW files so I can use the RAW tools to further process everything?

The files must be Developed before they can be stitched, as there's no usable image information to do the stitching when in RAW form.

You can do that Development manually, image by image, which will give you more control (and which I would recommend). Or you can let the program do it automatically.

Even after you've created the panorama, you can switch to the Develop Persona, though some tools there will act differently.

Thanks Walt....or may I call you Will?

I'm very new to Affinity photo and have barely scratched the surface of what it can do. I have tried changing from one persona to another but it's asking me to choose a pixel layer first and I have no idea what it is I have to do.

Can you recommend a good, informative series of tutorials for a novice like me? Kinda Affinity photo for dummies....if such a thing exists

It happens fairly often :)

I would need to know what you've done to get to the state the document is at, and see a screenshot of the complete application window that includes the Layers panel.

Have you tried the Tutorials provided by Serif, and linked from the Help menu in the application?

Pixel layers are one of over a dozen different kinds of layers AP supports. The About Layers help topic lists them all, along with the icons that identify each type in the Layers panel.

So if it is asking you to select a pixel layer, you must select one in the Layers panel with an icon that looks like this: pixel_layer_type.png.2b8c82b6b341afd40a1ac020186d1264.png. If there are none, you may need rasterize the layer you want to use in a different persona.
