Affinity Photo: Remove version 1 for Windows?

Recommended Posts

This may be a very elementary question, but I only see it answered for the Mac version.

I have installed Affinity Photo 2 for Windows, but I still have Version 1. Can I uninstall this? In Windows, there is a general uninstall feature that gets rid of all DLLs, and library and registry entries. But it only shows "Affinity Photo" (1.06 GB). Apparently Version 2 can be uninstalled from the application itself (this is very confusing, the Affinity developers obviously favor Mac).

My question is whether I can uninstall V1 from the uninstall menu. Will it uninstall both versions, or uninstall shared files required by both applications?

Thank you!

Yes you can safely uninstall AP V1. The Affinity versions install separately and do not affect each other. The V1 apps would use the MSI/EXE installer, and show in Windows Add/Remove Programs of the Control Panel. Unless you specifically downloaded the MSI/EXE version for AP V2, it is Sandboxed, and not seen by the Add/Remove programs.

I'm curious what you are referring to as the uninstall menu, is this in Control Panel, Apps & Features of the Settings?
