mrig
Hello, I apologise if this issues has already been raised. I am trying to use the ॐ symbol in designer, and despite all of my efforts to find a way to remove it, the figure displays with a solid white background. It is my understanding that this is not the correct behaviour. Thank you for you time. Quote M1 studio macOS sonoma v14.1.
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. What is that symbol, and where did you obtain it? mrig
Hello, thank you for you kind welcom and swift response. The symbol is the Devanagari 'OM' or 'AUM' symbol, I copy pasted it from the wikipedia page for the character. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Om I did try using a different one too, from the same page, but to no avail. Dan C
Hi @mrig, Welcome to the Affinity Forums I've tried copying this character from the above link and pasting it into a new document, which is working as expected for me - are you able to provide a copy of the .afdesign document that shows this issue here for me? Many thanks in advance!

Dan C
Thanks for providing that! I can see your character has a Background Colour of White set currently - if you select this character and open the Character Studio, you can then change the Background Colour to None, as shown in the below recording: 2023-09-18 17-25-20.mp4 I hope this helps
mrig
Ah! Yes this helps a lot, I do apologise, new to affinity and I'd not seen the character studio before! I was trying to change the colour from the colour and the swatches panel. Thanks again, much appreciated, very glad that this was my ignorance and not a bug that anyone need to resolve!
