How would you do this effect in A-Designer.

I know how to put an image within a shape or object but his im clueless on. How would you do this ?

This is how I would go about it:

Take a black on white shape as a mask - rasterize it

Add a picture to it.

Make a background layer and fill it with the "sky" color.

In Pixel Persona take a brush with black color to paint in the top part and the eraser with a soft (or textured) brush to paint in the fading:

Are you sure that's a job for Designer?  It looks more like something you'd do in Photo if you ask me.

Since it is so easy to continue working between both applications, with the Edit in command, I would have to say both, for me.

Although, I have to admit, my first thought was to use the transparency tool as a starting point in Designer.

Hhmmm still havnt found a straight forward way. I have both applications so thats not the problem! Thank you guys though!

What - You expect a one-click-bliss solution? 3 Layers and 1 brush is too much effort? :D  I can´t think of any easier way - anyone?

(a lot depends on the nature of the "background" of the foliage. Can we see your image?)

 

edit: whoops just looked at Pixels' image. Think I did the same in terms of layer #s.
