While working with the Development Persona in Photo 2 I did something (I don't know what...) that let the "Objektiv" Tab open - no idea how to close it (program restart does not help). I can change the settings "below" the "Objektiv" tab, but I cannot see them.

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Hi @DW52,

In the Develop persona if you go to Window > Studio > Reset Studio this should reset all panel's to their default positions and allow you to re-position the panel again.

@DW52

I think the problem is the little X for closing a floating panel (AKA un-docked) is offscreen. If you click on the title "Objektiv" and drag to the left the little X will be visible and clickable.

Hi Old Bruce,

as far as I can see there is no "X" to close a tab, but you can select another tab by clicking in the head of it. BUT: The problem was that the "Objektiv" tab stayed open (as an overlay) independent from my selection. But the advice from NathanC solved it easily.

TABs can be released from a tab group via mouse drags and also again be anchored into a tab group. So they can generally be reorganized too if wanted/needed.

There will be an X if (and only if) the panel is un-docked. To make a panel un-docked grab the tab by the name and drag it away from the Left or Right Studio.

Thanks, Old Bruce, for this explanation. I don't have too much experience with Affinity Photo yet, so I did not know that you can undock these tabs. Now I know ;-).

Bit of unasked for advice. Learn to set up the Studios (Right and or Left) with the panels you will use most often and save that as a Studio Setup. Window > Studio > Add Preset... (and once you have too many Manage Studio Presets...).

I rearrange the default locations and delete some then save it as my Basic starting point. Then I can drag various panels out and place in a more convenient location if needed, a simple Window > Studio > Basic 01 and I am back to my starting point. After a while I'll decide that I need a different setup for some particular type of frequently done work. I set up a new Preset and save it with a useful/descriptive name.

Pro tip: Get rid of (Delete) the Presets you don't frequently use. Here on my computer they breed like rabbits.
