Publisher crashes when trying to edit footnotes while using inline images

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've come across a pretty annoying issue. I got a document with footnotes and inline graphics. Whenever i try to edit the style of the footnote, (i.e. change the thickness of the rule above, change the font size and so on) the app crashes. If I take the images out of the document flow, I have no issues. It's only when they are flowing with the text. I don't know if this is a coincidence or related somehow.

I'm working on a document template for a client and need to be able to have both footnotes and inline graphics.

I've attached the crash report and a screen recording showing the crash in action. See also the attached dropbox link for the crashing file. You'll find the images on page 19-20.

I'm on a Macbook pro 14" M1 Max. MacOS Ventura 13.5.

I found a few posts about some issues with notes, but sadly nothing that helped with my exact issues. Please, does anybody know what might cause the issue and if there is anything i can do to fix it?

Hi @tobiastorjusen and welcome to the forums,

This is unfortunately a known and logged bug (AFB-7496) which is still awaiting a fix...

As I think you've seen it has been it has been reported before and as far as I'm aware there are no current workarounds to prevent Publisher from crashing. Publisher 2.2 is likely to be released in the next week or so but whether the bug will be fixed in the new release I don't know, hopefully someone from the moderation team can provide an update as it is obviously quite a major bug for anyone working with footnotes.
