Faay
Hi everybody, I design a book in A Publisher and I draw my grafics in A Designer. If I copy and past objects from A Designer into A Publisher everythink is fine with the resolution, it's 1:1. But I want to be able to embed my Artboards from A Designer into A Publisher. When I try to place my A Designer Artboards into Publisher the resolution is messed up. It's more than 3 times bigger. Why is this so? Can anyone help please? Thank you! v_kyr
It's probably due to different used/setup document resolutions (ppi), as a copy paste via the Clipboard usually results to 96 dpi (pixel density) graphics, where when embedding docs it depends on the embedded doc's resolution. - Check your AFpub and ADe used doc resolution setups, if they do match. Other than that it could also be an import/embed bug, somebody who uses v2 apps has to try. thomaso
Hi @Faay, welcome to the Affinity Forums! Are you using Affinity V1 or V2 apps? In V1 I can't reproduce such a difference in object dimensions but in adapted resolution only. Here a certain dimension of a copied image layer is maintained between two Affinity documents, while in case of different document resolutions its reported scaling value and thus its DPI gets adapted. Concerning page dimensions for a placed Affinity document instead of copy/pasting its containing image: Then both the placed page dimensions AND document resolution of the source are maintained in the target document, regardless of the target's document resolution. 1 hour ago, v_kyr said: a copy paste via the Clipboard usually results to 96 dpi Not to me in V1 on mac. I experience the 96 DPI issue only when I create a new Affinity document from clipboard content. Yes for new this was always the case here in V1 apps ... copy paste 96 dpi site:forum.affinity.serif.com ... though I can't tell how it behaves in v2 apps now (as I don't use them) and if something has been changed in the meantime for those then, or if some new bugs have been introduced there related to this copy/paste via clipboard theme. Faay
Thank you all! It was indeed a resolution problem. Both documents should have the same resolution.
