JimHudson Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 What steps are needed to make the table of contents flow to a facing page? I have searched all over the place and stopped creating a book over the problem. When I update the table it continues on the same page and cutting and pasting does not fix it. Quote

Hi Jim and welcome to the forums. Draw a text frame on a page for the TOC - the choice of whether to put it on a master page or document page is up to you Place the cursor in the frame and generate the TOC If the text frame isn't linked to another the Text Flow Out control near the bottom right will be red and indicate that the text is overflowing You need another frame - if the next page has the main text of your book you'll need to add blank page(s) in between - draw a text frame on one of them Click the red Text Flow Out control on the TOC frame to start linking frames and then click on the new frame you just drew. They'll be linked together and the TOC will flow into it. Repeat this if you need more frames.
