Partial work in Affinity Publisher 2

Recommended Posts

Hello,

is it possible to design master pages + layout in a single file. Reproduce this sketch into e.g. 5 copies and work in these (so it is easier to work on individual parts) and smoothly merge these 5 files into 1 final file? What about switching content between left and right page - is it easily done or it's preferred to avoid it? ^-^

PS: I suppose every change to the master pages should be performed in each file before the final merge?

Thank you for any information about smooth work flow!

I'm not sure what you mean because any APub file can & usually does include multiple Master & document pages in a single file. So if you are working on an APub document & apply changes to any of its Master pages, those changes will automatically be applied to any document page that includes that master unless you have chosen to edit that Master page content detached while detached.

Are you sure you understand how Master pages are intended to be used?

To merge several APub documents you can use for instance the option menu "Document" > "Add Pages From File…" or, in V2, to use the Book feature.

What do you mean by switching content between left and right page? - None of the Affinity apps has a feature to simply switch the position of objects.

Maybe you are interested in the use of Smart Master pages?

Or you might want to use the Flip + Rotate options in several steps in an according way together with the "Transform objects separately" option in the Context Toolbar. Alternatively you can try the macro "Swap object positions" , posted recently by the user @Paul Chiswick.
