[APu RC2 2.2.1994 Mac] Delete (Backspace) doesn't delete, Fn + Delete does. Why???

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

just want to check: currently in the last version, if I want to delete an object, the Delete key doesn't do anything, only Fn + Delete does. Is this intended? If so, could you at least let us choose in the settings? Within a text frame, everything works as intended.

This is new in the last beta, and I find it a very poor idea. The previous behaviour was way better.

Thanks, have a nice day!

This was a known bug in a previous beta but it was fixed in a subsequent beta. However, your keyboard shortcuts might still be messed up. You'll either have to go through Settings/Preferences > Shortcuts and look for ones that are wrong or reset to Serif defaults and restore your original shortcuts. If you happen to have a good version of your shortcuts saved then you should be able to re-load it.

Look in the Text Input shortcuts menu - I think that's where the problem started, they were all offset by one shortcut.

Good luck.

Thank you, Mike, that was it! I reset and recreated my shortcuts, and it was fine. So that's hopefully solved 😊
