I just started using the trial version of Designer.

I am trying to create simple flower designs; think petals of a certain shape (perhaps teardrop) arranged around a center circle.

Is there a tool, command or procedure to evenly arrange objects around a circle?  Of course I would want the objects to radiate from the center of the circle.  So the procedure would need to rotate the object and then distribute it.

Thanks

Hi George,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

You can use Power Duplicate to duplicate and rotate the petals along a circle.

To do it create one petal, duplicate it (and flip it if necessary) and drag it pressing ⇧ (shift) (this will constrain the movement of the duplicate) to create the opposite petal on the circle. Group both petals ( ⌘ (cmd)+ G ) then press ⌘ (cmd) + J to duplicate the group. With the group still selected, rotate it 30º or whatever value you wish dragging one of the corner of the group (you must approach it from outside until the cursor changes to a rotate icon). Then press ⌘ (cmd) + J successively to create the rest of the petals.

Here's the end result after the power duplicate. You can see the original group i used to create the rotation on the right and still selected on the final flower.

Let me know if you still have trouble.

Here's a video from one Affinity user that you may find interesting.
