Christiaan
Hi, how can we get on the Affinity Publisher beta program in the future? We're ditching iWork Pages, don't like Adobe Indesign, and are *very* interested in Publisher based on your software so far.
Staff MEB Posted March 23, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 23, 2016 Hi Christiaan, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) There will be a public Beta which will be announced here in the forums and media/social networks. You will have to sign-up on Affinity's website to receive an e-mail with a download link. Note that the Beta will be only available at the end of this year assuming everything goes according to the plans. manu schwendener and bodobe 2 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

rchrdnsh
End of the year meaning, like, september-ish, or end of the year meaning, like january next year?
spidermurph
Will the beta be for Windows and OS?
Jens Krebs
End of the year meaning, like, september-ish, or end of the year meaning, like january next year?I think september-ish has already passed. Personally I am holding my breath very carefully for 'before christmas-ish' and am keeping my fingers crossed. I would even be interested in simply having a peek at an alpha or a feature list so I can see if I should keep my hopes up for ditching InDesign or if I need to get comfortable with the thought of cintinuing to use it. Fixx
InDy is very good layout app. I think I will keep using it maybe years (or until OS breaks CS5) while waiting AffPub to mature.
Jens Krebs
@Fixx Yes, InDesign is very nice and does it's job, I had to update to CC though because of some features I need and am not very happy with the subscription.
Staff MEB Posted September 14, 2016 Staff Share Posted September 14, 2016 Hi Jens Krebs, There's no eta for Publisher yet, nor much information about it. We will post/keep you updated on the forums/media as soon as there's some news. Oval
I would even be interested in simply having a peek at an alpha or a feature list so I can see if I should keep my hopes up for ditching InDesign or if I need to get comfortable with the thought of cintinuing to use it. They already told us some secrets here. For example no multiline compositor in the initial release. Seems we have no chance to get all needed features just from the beginning.
