ragundo Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Hi There I'm developing a book using several .afpub files. Each .afpub file is a drawing with the title box. This title box is also a .afpub file common to all drawings, so it makes sense to have it linked in order to be able to modify the title box only in one place. Drawings .afpub are opened and exported individually without any problem, but when i create a .afbook to merge all documents and try to export it, the title box is not exported as a PDF object, but as a placeholder image. Am I doing something wrong?. Is there a PDF export setting to do it succesfully? Quote
Staff stokerg Posted September 8, 2023 Staff Posted September 8, 2023 Hi @ragundoand Welcome to the Forums, Looks like something is causing that part to be rasterised. Could you attach all of your afpub files or upload them all to our Dropbox here and we can take a look at why that's happening. Quote
ragundo Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 Hi there I just uploaded all the files. Thank you for the support!! Quote
Staff stokerg Posted September 8, 2023 Staff Posted September 8, 2023 Hi @ragundo, If you open the afbook file and double-click the first chapter in the list so it opens in the main Affinity window, do you get prompted about a missing linked resource? I did and once I'd relinked this in all the chapters, the PDF export looked correct. If I don't relink, then I get exactly the same issue you show in your screenshot, which is where Affinity is using the low res preview as a placeholder. Can you just work your way down the Chapter list in the book panel, double-click each one and relink the cajetin.afpub file and you should then be able to export it correctly Quote
ragundo Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 Hello Not working. I created a new .afbook file, added chapters, relinked cajetin.afpub. Everything OK in the book panel. Exporting still gives the blurry linked cajetin. Opening any .afpub drawing with the linked cajetin.afpub, displays the cajetin blurry initally, and only after changing the page or forcing a document redraw, is when the linked cajetin.afpub changes from placeholder to its real representation. I think the problem is that as Affinity .book file opens sequentially chapters, but don't update them as stated above., so the cajetin is always blurry. Quote
