Publisher file suddenly corrupt

Hi everyone,

I've been working on this Affinity Publisher document for about a week now, and everything has been working out great. When I tried to open the same file again this morning, it would always show that the file is damaged or corrupt. I have a backup, but only in form of a PDF where the text does not line up properly after import. I would hate to redo the whole file manually.

Is there anything anyone can do to repair the file? The document contains a lot of embedded images. Is one of them the problem? Is 112.5 MB too large for Publisher?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I recommend, that you also make copies of the .afpub files.

What did you do? And how did you do it? Was the background image on page 21 corrupt?

Yes, I know I should backup more often. If only there was more space left on my backup drives. I need to buy more storage.

I created a new document and added pages from file (Dokument > Seiten aus Datei hinzufügen). Yes, page 21 was blank for me. Perhaps this was the corrupt spot.

Thanks, I did not know the "Import pages" trick. It seems the left master page image got lost - all left pages have no background images. I re-added it, and now everything looks fine again. And I did a proper backup now!
