HobbyFan
Hi, I haven't been able to find anything in the forums about this specific problem so wondered if someone could help. I inserted a table into my document. I can adjust the column width manually by putting my mouse between the column headers and adjusting, but using the table tools doesn't work properly. In the cell options, if I try and make a cell wider than 400 px, it snaps back to 400 px. If I manually adjust a column to wider than 400 px and then try to press the increase button in the cell width option, it snaps back to 400 px. Why is it doing this? I can make the cell height bigger or smaller just fine using the table tool "Cell", and I can make columns thinner than 400 px with no problem. It just won't let me make bigger columns. Manually adjusting is not precise enough for me and I cannot get the width I want by doing that. I heard there might be a workaround which involves inserting a table that was already set up in another program. But other programs don't support the px measurement and I don't always have the time to do this. I would be grateful if someone could help. Thanks in advance! David in Яuislip
Yep, same in V1 however all is not lost providing you have a sense of humour If I need a column width of 497px, change the units to mm, dig out Excel, calculate 42.07933333mm @300dpi and enter that Change the units back to pixels and confirm, don't touch the cell widths when units are pixels Hard to believe that this is, "By Design" HobbyFan 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/
HobbyFan
That's... really weird! Thank you for confirming this is how the software is "supposed" to act, and double thanks for finding a solution! I may give up on using pixels as units in this case, I'm not an expert mathematician! Hopefully Affinity will see that this should really be treated as a bug and fix it...
R C-R
I may have misunderstood with the issue is but on my Mac I do not have any problems increasing cell width in the Table panel up to the maximum allowed that still leaves a >0 px space for the other cell columns. So for example if I have a 2 column table that is 700 px wide I can set the width of the left column to a maximum of slightly over 697 px. HobbyFan
It sounds like this is a Windows-specific issue in that case. When using px as a unit, table columns won't let you increase the width past 400 px if you type in a specific number in the width box or use the "increase width" arrow in the Table menu. I ditched px for cm and am now having zero table issues...
