Himanshu Tyagi Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Hey @Ash, first of all thank you to Affinity Community and the Team, for providing such a great bundle of tools to explore our creativity and hobby. But We all aware that everyone doesn't use big or large displays in that case minimizing the side menus or panels would increase the productivity similar to Adobe Creative Suits. For now, all panels could either be closed or close the group option is there. Please provide the option to minimize all the Layer, Text or Character Panels. This feature is already available in most design Tools like Corel Draw Dockers, Figma Panes, All Adobe Creative Cloud. When this thing could add up in our Affinity Tools ? Cuando 1 Quote
Hangman Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Hi @Himanshu Tyagi and welcome to the forums, If you double click on any one of the labels in the group of palettes, e.g., the Layers label, it will collapse the group of palettes, i.e., Layers, Character, Paragraph and Text Styles in your screen shot. A single click on Mac and I think it’s a double click on Windows will show the group again… Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

Can we do something like this as we are all getting used to this type of functionality or minimal view of side panes? I hope this will help a lot to the new users and existing users as well. Hangman Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Hi @Himanshu Tyagi, Unfortunately, Affinity apps don't have the ability or option to collapse panels in the same way Adobe apps do with iconic panels... I think that would be quite a fundamental change for Serif to make to the UI so I can't imagine it's something we would see any time soon even if there were sufficient requests for this feature... Rondem Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 I've added a shortcut to hide left or right side of panels. I hide them with CTRL+LEFT or RIGHT arrow key. debraspicher 1 Quote OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 ProVersion 10.0.17134 Build 17134System Type x64-based PC
