This must be something really basic. I opened a file to exercise placing Section headers, and realized that I cannot find Font menu on the Control panel. It seems this happened before, and I could bring it back by using Artistic text tool. But this time it doesn't come back.

How can I bring it back?? Now my screen looks like the image I attach below.

Also, may I ask another question? When I use tools, from yesterday, they appear with symbols on the right, § or paragraph symbol. How can I get rid of them?

After posting this, I went back to the "Publisher for Beginners" course, the chapter about the workspace of Publisher. It turns out I somehow turned off the "context tool bar" at the View. The third image I attach here is from the course, when it is shown how each tool has its own settings.

I'm having a sigh of relief. I wanted to do a lot of practice today and was disconcerted at the thought of not finding a way to have Fonts back for a day or two. I'll not delete the post, in case anyone just starting to learn Affinity might have some help from this.

But as regards that second question, tools coming with typographical symbols, how can I remove them? I'm trying to figure this out and may come up with a solution on my own, but I'd appreciate any suggestions.

... or simply activate the Preview Mode. This way it is easier / with 1 click to set the visibility of various interface items, for instance bounding boxes, guides, text flow diagonals, ... Special Characters included. It can be also useful to assign a keyboard shortcut without a modifier key to the command "Toggle Preview Mode", for instance "W" as in InDesign.
