Nudges made with the arrow key are recorded but you have to perform another action (e.g. click the layer in the Layes panel) before the move is recorded in the macro

It also does not allow me to select multiple layers with the shift key, it will only select one layer.

What do you intend to do next when the multiple layers are selected? Sometimes there can be another way around a macro limitation

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Thanks for the answer. But it just does not work. What I want to do is this:
- Use the selected layer.
- Duplicate the layer.
- Transform the new duplicated layer, make it slightly smaller.
- Move the duplicated layer a few pixels down.
- Use ctrl J to repeat the process a couple of times.
- Select all the new layers and combine them (these are vector layers)

All of this is to create a text effect that I want to be able to replicate easily.
