MikeTO
In most apps (MS Word, Apple Pages, and maybe InDesign), pasting without format pasted only unformatted text. Inline images, footnotes, index marks, etc., are stripped out. In Publisher, paste without format removes the text formatting but still pastes everything else. This is by design per Lee in the thread below. I suggest that this be changed to be more in line with other apps. My use case was I wanted to copy a sentence to re-use elsewhere in the document but it had a note marker in it. I didn't want that marker so I pasted without format, assuming it would strip the marker. I couldn't find a way to do it inside of Publisher so if I really didn't want to delete the marker after pasting, I have to paste the text into another app and copy it back into Publisher. I assume the reason most apps don't offer an option in between everything and plain text is that most people who want markers or images would also want the formatting. Plus it would be a confusing UI to have another paste option.
