Cannot create a new post in the correct forum category

Recommended Posts

Hello,

my first question would be in the subject

Cannot create a new post in the correct forum category

Most of it stays greyed out and I can't select anything :(

Is there a German forum?

I actually wanted to ask a question about batch processing Is this only possible via macros?

In other programs I can edit an image live and the changes are then applied to all others. I would need 1000 macros. I once downloaded the macro pack and unfortunately I have to say that I am absolutely not satisfied with it. Either I'm doing something wrong or they're just BAD!

Thanks in advance

Best regards roooookie

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

There are several ways you might try to create a new forum topic, including:

  1. From the Forum Home screen, clicking the "Start new topic" button. If you use this method, you will get this:
    image.png.cea8996b264d65f716edf6801e5b9db2.png

and on that dialog you need to click the pull-down arrow in the Select box. Doing that will give you something like this:
    image.png.ce61d083527e7cbaeb54a1e92818d9b4.png

And yes, on that screen, everything is grayed out and unavailable, but many have disclosure/expansion arrows on them. If you were to click the arrow next to Affinity Support & Questions, for example, you'd get this, where any of the 3 I've marked are appropriate and available for asking questions:

Not on this site.

However, feel free to ask (or answer) questions in German if you'd prefer. Serif Staff and other forum users can use translation tools to aid in understanding your question, and may also use them in answering. Or they may answer in some other language and depend on you to use translation tools to understand their answers :)

Affinity Photo is, in general, a single image editor. It is not a digital asset manager that is intended for processing large numbers of images and applying the same changes to each.

However, you could record a macro while editing one image, and then apply that macro to a series of other images via a Batch Job. This would be done using somewhat different techniques depending on whether you're working with RAW images or JPG/TIFF/PNG images.

There is nothing to select ..... why is it still displayed. At first I thought it was a bug in Edge

I'm not sure why those FAQ forums are even displayed in that dialog, unless it helps avoid confusion in cases where a user knows that the forum exists, and can't understand why it's not showing up at all in the Create Topic dialog. This way, the forum is at least there, and the fact that it can't be chosen indicates it's not available for you to use.

By the way, I see that I forgot to include method #2 in my first answer here. Sorry.

For method 2, you would navigate from the Forum Home page to the forum where you want to post. For example, here on the Home page you might click on the forum I've marked to ask a desktop-related question:
image.png.bdf20bb146b03b24def80b4f4e7c172d.png

You would then get directly to the forum you want, where you could read the forum purpose and posting guidelines, and then click on Start new topic.

Or, if you thought you should post in Frequently Asked Questions and navigated to it from the Home page, you would see this, which explains that you're in the wrong place to ask a question:

Thanks again for the info and tips!!!

The macro already works. But I have a big problem understanding what the development is concerned. If only the macro steps are executed during batch processing and the actual development (which, strictly speaking, is already a processing of several steps) is not (!) executed.

Or is the development started automatically in batch processing, which I can't imagine.

Thank you again!

Each image in the Batch is Developed using default settings, then the macro is processed.
