marcosb Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi everybody, I'm switching from PS to Affinity. It's a outstanding software, great work, but there's some things that I can't find. In the selection tools I Can't find the polygonal lasso, very useful to use straight lines When I select the instruments with keyboard's key (ex. C for cutter, J for Inpainting brush...) everytime i change instrument! In PS if you want to change you just hold Shift, but if you press the hot key you go straight to the instrument. When I use the instrument "Fill content-based" (Shift + F5) I can't use dropper for select a color directly from the image. I use this great software from 1 week and I love it but this things made my work slower and I want to fix it, to work seamlessy like I used to do with PS. Hope to receive your help, best regards Marco Quote
R C-R Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 A polygonal lasso tool is on the AP feature Roadmap ("-Lasso tool improvements including magnetic and straight line modes") but we don't have it yet. Some tools (like the inpainting brush) share the same keyboard shortcut with other related tools (like the Healing Brush & Patch tool) so tapping the key repeatedly cycles through them. Unfortunately, this means you can't use a shortcut to select any specific one of the related group -- it always selects the next one in the group. For the tools that do not share a shortcut key (like the Crop tool) tapping its key (the C key) toggles back & forth between that tool & the last used one. So for example, if you have the Inpainting brush selected & tap the C key, you switch to the Crop tool. Tapping C again switches back to the Inpainting brush. JimmyJack Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 We DO have a straight line/"polygonal" mode on lasso. Just hold down shift key. (the UI is a little weird.... the selection won't start to show itself until after the second click). Shift + F5: if you select "custom Color" there's an eyedropper there. Use it as usual.... which is to say, in it's usual kinda extra clicks awkward way. Quote
evtonic3 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I use the pen tool then choose selection in the context bar. Works fine. Quote
