For those that work with importing multiple text files into Publisher. What’s the best way to not have them all cramped together? Let’s say you have 20 text files, and each file can take up to more than 3 pages in Publisher. But each file is a new chapter. Is there a way to automatically page-break on a new file or some way to make a mark so you know it’s a new file just by glancing at it? One way I can think of is have something like "---" at the beginning of each text file, and then just import them into publisher (this would mean that I have to modify 100+ files). Afterward, use the find/replace and search for "---" and then replace it with a page-break. Is this the only way?

Alternative workarounds:

• Enter a page-break before you place the next text file. Unfortunately this requires to place every text file separately.

• Or prepare the .afpub before text imports with several start pages (-> interrupted text flow). Then, for placing the 20 files in 1 go, you can scroll through the .afpub to the next starting page. Unfortunately, unless you prepared the required number of pages per story, it may get confusing afterwards with auto-flow + new pages and their correct arrangement (a coloured page background might make that step easier).

You could prepare 1 page per text file, and Place each into its proper page. Then Shift+Click the linking triangle to create the added pages needed for each. This would give you separate text flows, which might work out better for you than having everything in one text flow.
