Text editing keyboard shortcuts broken in 1954 macOS

Recommended Posts

My keyboard shortcuts for text editing got messed up with the 1954 macOS beta update. For example, my Move Word Begin shortcut now does Move Line End. My Move Word End shortcut is now blank. Select Story End is now Tab which prevents typing the Tab character.

Loading Serif Defaults works fine, it's just shortcuts saved from the last beta that is an issue. This is the second time I've had a problem like this with the 2.2 beta so here is the shortcuts file I saved with the last beta in case that's helpful with testing.

Here's another user reporting the Tab shortcut issue but I started a new thread since that was in a thread about Sonoma compatibility.

Thanks, Mike, for identifying that this was the issue. I was able to go in and fix my shortcuts there. It looks like everything maybe got moved by one? Off by one item? Anyhow, I can use a tab again normally, and I fixed my home and end issues while I was in there

Yeah, it's something like everything is off by one.

The problem is broader than text editing shortcuts. Delete for deleting a layer or a node is also broken when loading saved shortcuts.

I'm off now to go review all of my shortcuts and fix them manually.

I believe this has been fixed in beta 1971 but fyi for others, if you fixed your shortcuts to work in 1954 and resaved them, you can't load that file or your shortcuts will be wrong again. I just loaded my pre-1954 shortcuts file and everything was good again. So delete the shortcut files you saved from 1954.

The issue "Some shortcuts are broken when upgrading from 2.1.1 to 2.2 with modified shortcuts" (REF: PD-935) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1971".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
