I am trying to use Affinity Publisher to print labels. Most of what I need is already in Publisher. However, there is one very important  item I can not find to accomplish this.

In setting up “cells” (a place for each label) I used guidelines. to make the guidelines correct for the label page, I needed to be able to use gutters that differ from vertical to horizontal. I only found a single place to enter a gutter measurement, making the gutters for horizontal and vertical the same.  The spaces between the labels and not the same  vertically and horizontally. Did I miss something?  If not, I request an enhancement. Could Affinity allow us to adjust the spacing for rows in a different entry from the spacing for columns?

Welcome to the forums @Bobbi Bullard

When you say you “used guidelines”, are you using Ruler Guides (in red in my image) or Column Guides (in green in my image)?

These two things achieve similar things but in different ways.

It sounds like you are using Column Guides but I would like to be sure we are talking about the same thing.

If you are using Column Guides then there’s only one Gutter setting that is used for both horizontal and vertical spacing.

You might consider using a different approach than column guides. For example, you could experiment with:

  • Printing "N-Up", which has functions that can allow printing labels. For example:

    or
  • If you're using something standard like Avery Labels, you can download a template from the Avery website that will work in Publisher, and will be setup already to hold your label content.
    or
  • Data Merge may also be useful.
