allfive Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I made a download of Ivan Weiss's LUT pack from within the Affinity Photo app account window and got the green arrow. I can't find the LUT pack. I restarted the app, opened the Assets window. Blank. I read the posted Add On instructions on the Affinity web page. Didn't help. Tried to find "Refresh Library" in Preferences but there are a lot of choices but I couldn't find it. Searched my Mac for "top 9 LUT pack" and "Ivan Weiss" and find nothing. After a lot of trying, I'm now asking for help here. Please. Affinity Photo v2.1.1 Mac OS 12.6.8 Thank you.
walt.farrell Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 LUTS are not Assets; they're Adjustments. Open the Adjustments panel, scroll down to LUTS, and expand it. Then choose the set you want from the pulldown at the top of the LUTS section. allfive and R C-R 2 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. allfive Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 Walt, THANKS! I think if would be helpful to many if Affinity gave more detail on LUTS in their "Guide to add ons" page under "Add on Types", i.e., that they are adjustments, and include a link to a simple how-to about loading them after the download. I've been using Affinity since the beginning so maybe that shows I've haven't learned much since then. Thanks again for your prompt help!

If you get them from the Account window by clicking on the "Download this bundle" button (the one with the arrow in a cloud icon) they are automatically loaded into the LUT section of the Adjustments panel. Also, if you click on the disclosure triangle on the left of the entry in the Account window to show the LUT pack & Guide separately, & then hover the pointer over the 3 interlocked circles icon to the left if the LUT item, a popup will appear describing it as a "LUT adjustments pack." Not the most obvious thing in the world, but once you know how it works you should be able to determine what kind of resource almost anything in the Account window is. allfive and walt.farrell 2 All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps (currently 2.6.4); 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
allfive Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 Thanks for that advice, R C-R. Will practice it into memory.
R C-R Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 FWIW, in the 'burger' options menu in ythe Accounts window there is the option "Show Search Bar" which besides adding a search field also shows a row of icons that can be used to filter the results to various of the add-on types. Unfortunately, there is no tooltip for them so you will have to memorize what each one stands for but at least it does show what they all look like. allfive 1 All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps (currently 2.6.4); 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
allfive Posted August 13, 2023 Author Posted August 13, 2023 Another great tip I didn't know. Thanks, R C-R.
