CurranJSmith
For a long time now I have been frustrated and disappointed in the snapping of affinity Designer. It never seems to work the way I want it to, and is constantly slowing me down in many ways, such as having to think of clever solutions or guide lines around what should be very straights forward and simple snaping functions. There are to many unique instances to list off the top of my head but ill try to update this post as they occur and would really appreciate others input of their snapping challenges as well. With enough examples Im sure there could be some serious improvements achieved. Some examples are... Group snapping - selecting a group of objects/curves and moving them to snap to others. A rework of this would help make building arrayed patterns much much easier mid point and tangent snapping - always seems to be finicky and doesn't always work accurate anchor point snapping - I over snap to and anchor point only to zoom in and find that the anchors of vector line are slightly off. btavares79
Old Bruce
My experience with the snapping is good, until I have too many candidates set. I made a preset called All Off and choose that then turn on only what I want / need. Also sometimes I find using the Node tool can help by utilizing its candidates. lixie
Yeah, I just posted my comment in the thread below. There are so many threads on this. Affinity couldn't figure out how to make money off of implementing some basic snap functionality. So disappointing, in some cases frustrating, and in even more cases it's just downright irritating.
