[RFE] Option to disable on-canvas adjustment of filter / layer parameters (Photo)

Recommended Posts

Some filters offer the ability to adjust certain parameters by dragging the mouse pointer on-canvas, e.g., High Pass, Lens Blur, etc. However, I find that roughly 99.999999999999999999% of the time I do it accidentally by missing the dialog control or (more frequently) forgetting to hold Space while panning the image. I end up fire-walling some parameter to an absurd value and not uncommonly virtually hanging my suddenly CPU-bound computer in the process.

Some on-canvas interaction is great - Color pickers, selections, etc. By all means, leave those. But we already have sliders and entry fields to set parameter values. So please, in such contexts include a persistent checkbox to optionally disable on-canvas adjustments.

Thanks.
