I must not be the only one missing this handy Paste Special where I could paste in copied layers as one PNG. There were other options integrated as well, but I don't recall them by heart.
Can this be re-added in an upcoming update, pretty please?

Paste Special still exists, and what you've described still exists.

Well, I am working on a Mac right now and I am missing this in Affinity Designer+Photo v2.1.1  (see screenshot).
Just checked and it is available in the Windows version.
Would be handy to have in for IOS as well, I think. :)

It's a function only on Windows, and was never a function on the Mac versions of the Affinity applications. There's nothing to "bring back". Other Mac users have commented before that they'd like to see it implemented there.

Pasting is weird enough on iPadOS that I'm not sure whether this could work, but if it can work then yes, it would be nice :)

Correct that a "bring back" is not correct if it was not there before - which I was sure it was. Maybe I got fooled because I work seamlessly with both systems.
Still, I hope if it can be done, it will be nice to have.
