I can't print anything from my MacBook Air.

I try to send files from all the affinity softwares and none of them open the dialogue box. My printer is working, both USB and WiFi connections. I can use the printer from other softwares, but affinity simply do not respond. What can I do?

Hi darcy.albuquerque,

Could you please try fully restarting your mac, then load your Affinity software whilst holding the control key down, when the reset dialogue appears, just hit reset.

Then test with a new document not from a saved file.

I have new issues with the printing. I haven't tried with Affinity Photo or Affinity Design, I am in a middle of a project with too many tasks. I am able to print from Publisher, BUT just once. If I need to send a file to the printer I need to close the Publisher completely (all the files I am working with...). When I relaunch the software then I see the dialogue box for the printer... What can I do about this?

I have, with the latest software of Apple the same experience. Apple makes a pdf of the printing document, and print that. This costs some time,  sometimes. A few things you can try:

  • Don't exit the application. Let the app open on printing. And wait till it’s ready.
  • Add a new printer, the same, and try again.

Hi @pruus, my issue is I don’t get any way to communicate with the printer after the first print. I must close everything then after relaunch I can see the printer dialogue box…

A pdf doesn’t help because some aspects of what I need to print need to be settled by the dialogue from the publisher.
